Pricing

Every editorial job is different depending on the work to be undertaken. Variables include the level of proofreading and/or copyediting desired, the length and complexity of the project, how quickly the job needs to be done, and any research or design required.

I have set out below the average rates suggested by the various professional organisations of which I am a member. However, every job is unique, and therefore all fees are negotiable.

I do not charge VAT. I accept payment by online bank transfer or cheque.

For a free, no obligation quotation, send me an email with details of the work required and, if possible, a sample of your text.

Before any proofreading or copyediting work begins, the client and I will agree upon the terms of the project. This will include:

• the work to be carried out
• the format in which it will be done (Word, Adobe PDF, InDesign, print)
• the date the work will be sent by the client
• the timeframe in which the work will be completed
• the fee agreed by both the client and myself
• the date by which payment will be received
• any additional fees for late payment.

The client will pay either a fee per 1,000 words, a fee per hour, or a flat fee for the entire project as agreed prior to work commencing.

The fee will not be renegotiated unless additional work is required by the client.
